Our Story

Ritual Remains is the creative joining born out of a long-term friendship and mutual love for the outdoors, with a passionate drive to replicate the beauty of the natural world into metal form using sterling silver, copper, and brass.

Both self-taught and prolific creatives- Helen and Tavo came together to form Ritual Remains in 2016. At the time, they lived and worked together in Oakland, California, and pieced their money together to buy tools and expand into the world of metalsmithing; often running between their studios in the house to share a hammer or torch. They fell in love with the art of metalsmithing and shared a vision to create wearable art jewelry that honors the wonder of the outdoors.

They continue their partnership and work for Ritual Remains, but now from separate jewelry studios in Northern California. Helen moved north to Sonoma County and Tavo moved further north onto off-grid land in the redwoods of Humboldt County.

Through thousands of hours, endless trial and error, and friendship, their labor of love is evident in their jewelry's attention to detail and creativity. Each heirloom-quality piece is always handcrafted from start to finish and never sacrifices its connection to the natural world.
