I spent many blissful hours foraging on the rural land I live and create on for just the right oak leaves to study and translate into metal for this bracelet. During this process of study, memories of childhood leaf pile diving and leaf collecting brought me a warm sense of nostalgia. The final design of the leaves swirling around the bracelet pays homage to the childlike joy of watching leaves float to the ground.
Each leaf on the Oakwood bracelet was hand cut from original drawings from brass sheet metal using the hair thin blade of a jeweler's saw. Traditional soldering techniques were using to securely attach the leaves to the main bracelet. Once soldered, hours were joyfully spent detailing the leaves and creating their richly textured stippled background. The bracelet was then formed to give a comfortable and adjustable fit. Lastly, it was given a rich patina and carefully highlighted to make every texture and detail shine.
The Oakwood bracelet measures 6" in total length, making it suitable for a large variety of wrist sizes. It is currently formed for a medium wrist size. Please leave a note with your order if you would like me to adjust it up or down for you before sending. The bracelet is 5/8" wide.
